"Smorodynskyi" Landscape Park

0 20 0

The "Smorodynskyi" Landscape Park is situated within the Podilskyi and Smorodynskyi descents in the Shevchenkivskyi district. Its area covers over 18 hectares. The park's name originates from the Smorodynov merchant family and possibly from the Smorodyna River, where, according to legends, Mykyta Kozhumyaka defeated Zmiy Horynych. The landscape park is a picturesque green space with old buildings and an interesting terrain. Notable attractions include a 500-year-old oak tree and a rare rowan tree, while the dome of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker Church shines on the hilltop. The infrastructure includes children's and sports playgrounds. Additionally, five insect hotels have been installed here. The Chernobyl Victims Memorial Complex is located within the park's territory.
