The Kyiv Municipal Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre for Children and Youth, also known as Kyiv Opera, is a theatre in Kyiv, Ukraine. Founded in 1982 as the State Children's Music Theatre, it is the first and only theatre of its kind in the country. Since 1998, the theatre has been located in the former "Kharchovyk" club building on Podil. The theatre has staged over 200 productions, including 40 premieres. The theater presents from 20 to 25 performances monthly, including operas, ballets, musicals, musical fairy tales, symphonic and vocal-symphonic programs, and concerts. Its artistic team comprises opera and ballet troupes, a symphony orchestra, and a choir. The theater aims to combine contemporary and classical productions designed for both children and adults.
