The Kyiv Academic Puppet Theater is the state academic puppet theater, the oldest puppet theater in Ukraine, located in the heart of the city, in a cozy corner of Kyiv. The theater building resembles a fairy-tale palace, and the surrounding area is designed as a real children's fairy-tale town: sculptures of fairy-tale characters, a fountain, benches for relaxation, and flower beds. On October 30, 2002, by decision of the Collegium of the Ministry of Culture and Arts of Ukraine, the theater was awarded the title of "Academic" for its significant contribution to the development of theatrical art, and it has since been known as the Kyiv State Academic Puppet Theater. The theater's repertoire includes more than 40 domestic and international performances for both children and adults.
