The St. Nicholas Church on Tatarka, located near Smorodynskyi Descent, is a key component of the Memorial Complex for the Victims of Chornobyl, which began construction in 1991. Designed by architect M. Zharykov, its modern architectural style is immediately recognizable: a large cube that resembles a power unit, strikingly interrupted by a break in the wall above the entrance. This distinct feature makes the church's architecture both unusual and memorable. Among its sacred possessions are ancient icons of Christ and the Theotokos, Saint Basil the Great, and the Great Martyr Barbara. Additionally, a Sunday school for children is operated by the church.
