The UGCC Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker stands as a unique rotunda-style edifice at Askoldova Mohyla. Designed by Andriy Melensky and built in 1809, it later underwent restoration by the celebrated architect Volodymyr Nikolayev. On April 26, 1992, the temple was transferred to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church community. The church's striking dome features a depiction of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, while the lower level showcases scenes from the life of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. Within its walls, you'll find preserved copies of three miraculous icons of the Blessed Mother: those of Zarvanytsia, Hoshiv, and Sambir. The parish actively engages in community and remembrance. In Askoldova Mohyla Park, a memorial cross, funded by parishioners, marks the burial site of student soldiers who died at Kruty station. More recently, in 2023, memorial plaques were added to the chapel's facade, honoring Vitaliy Skakun (Hero of Ukraine) and Lieutenant Denys Antipov, heroes who fell during the Russian-Ukrainian war. The parish also runs a vibrant social ministry, including "Caritas-Pechersk", "Kitchen for the Needy", "Gift from Dad" (a scholarship for war orphans), and a Petrykivka painting group.
