The Pharmacy Museum, located in the historic Podil district, one of Kyiv's oldest areas. Founded in 1728 by the German pharmacist Johann Heiter, the pharmacy operated for centuries before being restored and opened as a museum in 1988. Today, it houses over 50,000 exhibits, displayed in 12 halls that recreate the atmosphere of an 18th-19th century pharmacy. These include the pharmacist's office, a traditional healer's hut, and an alchemist's laboratory. The museum provides insight into the history of pharmaceutical practice and the historical significance of Podil as a major trading center in old Kyiv.
