Opened in 1905, Kyiv's funicular connects Podil with the Upper Town, providing convenient access between the two parts of the city. Initially called the "St. Michael's Mechanical Lift" due to its proximity to the St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery, the modern funicular spans 222 meters. It accommodates up to 100 passengers and is not only a means of transportation but also a historic landmark enriching Kyiv's charm.
