Kyiv Fortress is a museum complex that features three main exhibitions chronicling the fortification history of Kyiv and Ukraine, spanning from the Trypillian culture to the early 20th century. The exhibits showcase artifacts, significant events, and biographies that reflect the history of national liberation movements in Ukraine, which are closely linked to the fortress structures, as well as the city's resilience against invasions. Today, this complex is one of the largest preserved fortresses in Europe. The museum's collection boasts the most extensive array of military-historical miniatures in Ukraine. Visitors can explore a unique permanent exhibition titled "From Cannonball to Shell," which focuses on the history of artillery, as well as the only collection of automatic weapons found in Europe. The fortifications include impressive earthen walls, stone towers, and caponiers, all of which are featured in sightseeing tours. Additionally, a variety of cultural and social events are held at the fortress.
