On Sofiyska Square in Kyiv, the lights of the country’s main Christmas tree were ceremoniously lit

On Sofiyska Square in Kyiv, the lights of the country’s main Christmas tree were ceremoniously lit. This year, the tree features a snow-white design, adorned with 2,000 turquoise ornaments and 2 km of soft blue garlands. The symbolic decoration, along with the "Phoenix Wings" photo zone, creates a magical atmosphere, attracting locals and visitors alike. All decorations were funded by sponsors, and no mass events are planned on the square.

According to Kyiv's mayor, Vitaliy Klitschko, this year's tree, traditionally lit on St. Nicholas Day, stands 15 meters tall. This year, it features a snow-white color, giving it an especially magical appearance.

As in previous years, the installation and decoration were funded by benefactors.

The pure white color of the tree symbolizes the beginning of a bright and clean path, reflecting the renewal brought by Christmas and the New Year. A light blue 2-kilometer-long garland wraps the tree in a gentle glow, complemented by 2,000 turquoise ornaments. This symbolic design harmonizes with the grand facade of St. Sophia Cathedral, creating an enchanting atmosphere.

Nearby, a beautiful and symbolic photo zone called the "Wings of the Phoenix" has been installed. A few stalls for selling exclusively souvenir items have also been set up. No mass events, markets, or other entertainments are planned on Sofiyska Square.
