On December 14, Ukraine will honor the participants of the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident. The date was chosen not by chance. On this day 35 years ago, the construction of the sarcophagus over the fourth destroyed Chernobyl power unit was completed.
We thank all the heroes-liquidators who have given their future and health to millions at the cost of their own health and lives.
More than 15,000 residents of Zaporizhzhia took part in the liquidation of the accident. In 2018, a monument to the heroes of the Chernobyl disaster was unveiled in the city.
